About the Event

Starting your own business and picking the right niche in no time

Join us as we advance a one-of-a-kind bio bank into the 21st century by applying AI, machine learning and data algorithms. Anne Breggia, PhD, will share the latest innovations from the Maine Medical Center BioBank.

The Maine Medical Center BioBank (MMC BB) provides human biospecimens with annotated clinical data to the research community to aid in the characterization of disease with the goal of improved patient therapies and the advancement of science and personalized medicine.

Excess surgical tissue and other biospecimens that would otherwise be discarded is de-identified, processed, stored and distributed to research scientists at MMC, MMCRI, other academic institutes, pharmaceutical and biotech companies and commercial specimen repositories.

The Innovation Blender Series

In the healthcare world, everyone has 99 problems (yes, COVID-19 is one), and even more ideas to help solve them. It takes experts in all areas and industry to help us answer the questions: Why? How? When?

Join MaineHealth Innovation and The Roux Institute at Northeastern University as local innovators in the healthcare space share their latest novel ideas, and help brainstorm solutions to their project needs.

Come collide with MaineHealth pioneers, The Roux Institute community and local entrepreneurial talent as we collaborate to pave a healthier future forward – one healthcare opportunity at a time.

Note this event is part of the Innovation Blender series. In order to ensure productive sessions, the audience will be limited to a small, curated group.  When it is safe to host large events in person we will increase the size of these events and hold them in person.
